St. Pete Tennis Center

The Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida supports youth tennis programs at the historic St. Pete Tennis Center in St. Petersburg, helping provide young players with opportunities to learn tennis while developing teamwork, discipline and communication skills.

2026

The Youth Tennis Foundation funds more than just tournaments and college scholarships. YTF also helps young people attend summer camps where they can learn and develop a love of tennis.

The St. Pete Tennis Center hosts after-school and summer tennis camps for youth, and YTF was proud to support the program again in 2026.

Through these programs, young players learn the fundamentals of tennis while also developing important life skills such as teamwork, discipline and communication.

2025

In 2025, the Youth Tennis Foundation donated $4,000 to assist the St. Pete Tennis Center's youth program and help rebuild portions of the facility following the two hurricanes that passed through St. Petersburg in the fall of 2024.

The St. Pete Tennis Center's programs provide important opportunities for children who might otherwise be unable to participate because of financial circumstances.

Nearly half of the after-school tennis campers at the center receive scholarships because of financial need, while approximately 60 percent of summer camp participants receive scholarships.

Support from organizations such as the Youth Tennis Foundation helps make these tennis camps and programs possible for underprivileged youth.

The impact goes beyond learning a sport. Participants gain friendships and develop discipline, teamwork and skills that contribute to their physical, mental and social well-being.

YTF Sponsors Youth Tennis Event in St. Petersburg

On May 20, 2023, the Chambers / Pilon Law Firm hosted a free one-day tennis camp at the historic St. Pete Tennis Center in Bartlett Park.

The purpose of the event was to introduce children to the game of tennis and provide basic instruction. For many of the participants, it was their first experience on a tennis court.

The Youth Tennis Foundation of Florida was proud to be one of several named sponsors of the event. The camp was primarily organized and led by Jeff Chambers, principal member of the Chambers / Pilon Law Firm and a member of the YTF Board of Directors.

Approximately 50 children from the local area attended the event. The participants ranged in age from 5 to 13 and received free tennis clinics from eight teaching professionals from the tennis center.

Volunteers from the law office, along with YTF President Ed Jagger, were on site to help distribute racquets, snacks, drinks and T-shirts to the campers.

The day ended with the campers enjoying Chick-fil-A sandwiches and talking about how much fun they had at the camp.
